A cocktail recipe by Bosko Hrnjak published in Beachbum Berry Remixed. Tiki mug also by Bosko, who started making mugs before anyone in the modern tiki revival. Swizzle from Grider.
Today (March 5, 2017) was the last day of operation for Longitude, a 3-year old Tiki (and Adventure!) bar in Oakland, California, opened by Suzanne Long in 2014. Here's a video tour, courtesy of Humuhumu on Critiki. Though I'm not a local, I visited Longitude several times and I'm sad to see it go. I don't have any Longitude-specific cocktail recipes available to me, so I'm instead raising a rum barrel in their "Queens Barrel" mug in honor of Longitude. I'm excited to hear what Suzanne may do next. Aloha, Longitude.
This simple cocktail (obscured here by a Trader Vic's PDX mug by Munktiki) was the first recipe featured on the first episode of this here show. I pulled the recipe from Beachbum Berry Remixed and for this instance of the Outrigger I omitted the sugared rim.
As published in Beachbum Berry Remixed, the Pago Pago is a 1963 recipe served in 3 restaurants operated by Dean Short in Arizona - the pago Pago, Kon-Tiki, and Ports 'O Call. Word is, a lot of Dean's recipes were lifted from Don the Beachcomber by way of hiring one of their bartenders.
