5 Minutes of Rum
Notes on rum, a few minutes at a time.
I don't want to bury the lede:
“The overwhelming favorite was the hand-squeezed lime juice that was 4 hours old. The distant second place was 4 hour old machine pressed juice. Almost no one chose the fresh hand squeezed juice.”
Don't be afraid to juice ahead of time, but always use freshly-squeezed juice.
Why is it blurry? Because overproof.

It's hard to describe what a thrill it was for me to talk Mai Tai at the Rum Rhum Club at the Tonga Hut today. Tiki Oasis 2009 was a real watershed event for me (in retrospect) and if you'd told 2009 me that I'd be talking about the Mai Tai in a 55-year old tiki bar in 2013 I would have laughed.
